Traveling by Ethanol Easier, NCGA Finds

Jun 26, 2007 2:27 PM, Source: NCGA

E-85 vehicle owners who are planning long-distance trips this summer have additional resources to find supplies of the ethanol-based fuel, notes the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA).

At least three Internet sites can guide motorists to E-85 stations throughout the U.S. The National Ethanol Vehicle Coalition (http://www.e85fuel.com) allows users to access an E-85 directory with a simple click from the home page. The U.S. Department of Energy also has a guide for E-85 stations at http://afdcmap2.nrel.gov/locator.

The popular MapQuest site has added an alternative fuel function to its mapping features. By using http://gasprices.mapquest.com/ travelers can search for alternative fuel stations.

Several NCGA state affiliates, including Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, and South Dakota, also offer E-85 guides on their Web sites.
