If You Have Soybean Questions, ISU Extension Has Answers
May 2, 2007 10:36 AM, Source: Iowa State University
Palle Pedersen, Iowa State University (ISU) Extension soybean agronomist, and his team are ready to answer your questions about soybean production. Questions can be submitted through his Web page http://extension.agron.iastate.edu/soybean/index.html
“The ‘Question and Answer’ section is available to farmers and crop consultants with questions about in any topic related to soybean management,” says Pedersen. “You may attach up to two pictures with your description of the issue that you are seeing in the field. The pictures will help us to determine what is causing the problem in your field. The question will be answered within 24 to 48 hours.”
Those submitting questions must include an email address, along with the county, state and zip code of the field location. Pedersen says that information will not be posted on the Web and will be available only to him and the other experts who answer the question.
“Having this information will help us to determine where problems are occurring in the state,” he says. “If the question is relevant and other people could benefit from it, the question and answer will be released online so anyone who visits the page can review it.
Pedersen hopes to develop a database of questions later this year so anyone visiting this Web page can search the database for previous questions.
The remainder of the Web page offers the latest research-based information and recommendations on all aspects of soybean production, though mostly related to Iowa.
In addition, there are links and information about ISU Extension soybean research, soybean uses, insects and diseases, farm business management, publications and even recipes. The “What’s New” section offers timely information about specific soybean production issues.
The home page for the site is http://extension.agron.iastate.edu/soybean/index.html. If you want to submit a question you can go directly to http://extension.agron.iastate.edu/soybean/QAForm/Default.aspx
