NEW SEED TREATMENT FOR COTTON
Dec 1, 2005 12:00 PM
AVICTA Complete Pak is now available for the 2006 planting season. It's a seed-delivered technology to combat all early season cotton pests containing three separately registered products: AVICTA seed treatment nematicide, Cruiser seed treatment insecticide and Dynasty CST seed-delivered fungicide.
The seed-applied combination of three different products gives growers protection from nematodes, insects and diseases in one convenient delivery method. It eliminates application timing uncertainty and labor intensive handling associated with current control methods.
“I think farmers are always looking for a good way to speed up the planting operation,” says Craig Rothrock, professor of plant pathology at the University of Arkansas. “Any time you have to apply an additional product, it means an additional stop for the tractor driver.”
This is the first new option for nematode control in almost 30 years.
