HIGH-HORSEPOWER TRACTOR

New Holland introduces a new 500 hp tractor, powered by a Cummins 15 liter engine, to its TJ tractor line. It's equipped with a 16-speed full powershift transmission, 300-gal. fuel tank and a 42-gpm hydraulic pump capacity. It also operates at 100 rpm faster than the TJ450 and has a larger air-induction system, larger tires and a 24-volt starting system with 12-volt operating system.

BIDIRECTIONAL TRACTOR

The new TV145 bidirectional tractor introduced by New Holland can be operated cab-end or engine-end first. The operator can work facing either direction because the turnabout console rotates the seat and primary controls 180∞. The TV145 is a Tier II after-cooled, turbo-charged, six-cylinder 105-hp diesel engine. Also, the grill surface on the hood has been increased by 40% for improved cooling.

DEEP-TILLAGE CHISEL PLOW

Designed for primary tillage in tough conditions, New Holland's new ST540 chisel plow features a 4×4-in. tube steel frame with 1/4-in. wall and heavy-duty shanks on 12-in. spacing. It's available in three- or four-bar frame configurations ranging in widths of 24-40 ft. Depending on the configuration, transport heights range from 10 ft., 5 in. to 17 ft., 9 in.; and all models have a 17 ft., 6 in. transport width.

MEDIUM-DUTY TRACTORS

McCormick USA offers four new medium-duty (73, 84, 90 and 102 hp engine) tractors with a new optional XtraShift transmission. They offer eight gears with three speeds each for 24 forward and 24 reverse speeds. A thumb switch provides fingertip power shift selection. The CX 05 series is powered by Perkins engines and comes with an optional oscillating 4WD front axle that has a turning radius of less than 15 ft.
