USDA's Natural Resources Conservation Service has developed a new energy consumption tool called the Energy Estimator. It's the first Web-based energy consumption awareness tool that estimates diesel fuel use and costs in the production of major crops. It then compares potential energy savings between conventional tillage and alternative tillage systems. Check it out at http://ecat.sc.egov.usda.gov.
