EU Imports Biotech Sweet Corn

Biotech foes in Europe lost ground when the European Union (EU) Commission authorized imports of Syngenta's genetically modified sweet corn, according to Doane's. It broke a five-year moratorium on importing biotech foods. The reason: EU labeling and traceability laws have made it more difficult to keep foods out on grounds that consumers have a right to know what's in their food. Now they will. What remains to be seen is if they'll buy it.
