DISASTER AID HURTS CSP

The final disaster aid package approved by Congress for U.S. farmers outside of hurricane-stricken areas contains offsetting cuts to the Conservation Security Program (CSP) funding. The Senate wants CSP funding restored to the 2005 budget. However, experts say that action is likely largely symbolic since House leaders are expected to block any such move.
