For Fall 2008-Spring 2009, the Department of Agronomy and Horticulture at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln will offer the following distance-delivered courses for academic credit, noncredit professional development and CEU credit. Agricultural Biochemistry:
August 25 - December 12, 2008
Noncredit Registration Fee: $150 ($200 after Aug. 18)
Full-semester course that explores the biochemical bases of agriculture and food production.

Plant Science:
Aug. 25 - Dec. 12, 2008.
Noncredit Registration Fee: $150 ($200 after August 18)
Full-semester course which examines the mechanisms used by plants to drive and control their growth, propagate and evolve to compete with other organisms.

Self-Pollinated Crop Breeding:
Aug. 26 - Sept. 25, 2008.
Noncredit Registration Fee: $150 ($200 after August 19)
Mini-course covering common breeding methods used to improve crops and the theoretical basis for self-pollinated crops.

Germplasm and Genes:
Sept. 30 - Nov. 4, 2008.
Noncredit Registation Fee: $150 ($200 after September 23)
Mini-course focusing on genetic variation resources for conventional and modern plant breeding programs.

Cross-Pollinated Crop Breeding:
March 25 - April 23, 2009.
Noncredit Registration Fee: $150 ($200 after March 18)
Mini-course examining standard breeding methods and theories associated with population improvement of cross-pollinated crops (i.e., corn, alfalfa, sunflowers and forage grasses) and self-pollinated crops that are forced to cross-pollinate.

Crop Breeding Package:
Includes all three of the above-listed crop breeding mini-courses, plus the course notebook.
Noncredit Registration Fee: $400
